Aimie Leak

Aimie is 17 years old, currently studying for her ‘A’ Levels at Bournemouth School for Girls. She plans to study for a degree in Dance at Bournemouth University, before pursuing a career full-time in dance. In preparation for this, Aimie has joined the EADA Amateur Coaching Scheme in both Ballroom and Latin disciplines. Aimie ‘stumbled’ into the world of Ballroom and Latin at the age of 10; and dancing has grown to become her main focus in life!

Aimie competes in ISTD medalist competitions, EADA ‘Open’ competitions and other British Championship competitions; Aimie’s ambition is to become a world class competitive dancer! Apart from the competitions, Aimie also participates in various demonstrations and shows, as well as undertaking other styles of dance such as Ballet and Street.

Some of the achievements Aime has enjoyed either solo or with her partner Lee McGowan include;

• Regular ISTD winner/finalist in ‘Grand Finals’ at Blackpool Tower
• Latin Finalist in "Champions of Tomorrow" in January 2008 at Blackpool Winter Gardens
• Third Place for Latin in ‘Best of British Finals’, Fourth place for Ballroom in September 2008
• Currently ranked Top-20 England/EADA Amateur Ballroom
• Invited to dance with Lee in Opening ceremony for "World Professional Ballroom Championships" in November 2007
